President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Malik Basintale, the incumbent Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
This latest announcement on Basintale’s appointment follows the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong, the CEO of YEA, who resigned, citing personal commitments and aspirations after serving for two years.
Mr. Basintale, a well-known figure and active member of the ruling NDC, will officially assume his new role on Monday, January 27, 2025.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr Basintale expressed his gratitude to President Mahama, tweeting: “Thank you, Mr President, H.E John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you❤️🙏🏽🇬🇭”.

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), established in 2015 by the Youth Employment Act (Act 887) is a public sector agency in Ghana that helps young people find employment.
The YEA’s mission is to create jobs for young people in Ghana and to help them contribute to the country’s development.
