Four houses have been set on fire in Keri, a farming community in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, amid ongoing conflict in the area.

The violence has increased fear and security concerns among residents. Reports say a 25-year-old food vendor, Richmond Benye, was shot and killed on Saturday.

Another man, Bright Nkpah, also 25, was shot on Monday, May 4, while returning home.

He is currently receiving treatment.

In response, security forces have stepped up efforts to restore order.

A joint team of military and police officers has been deployed to Keri and nearby communities to maintain peace and prevent further attacks.

The Ghana National Fire Service managed to control the fires and reduce damage to property.

Although tensions remain, the situation is gradually calming as security patrols continue.

Authorities have begun investigations into both the arson and the shootings.
