GOIL warns public against fake investment schemes online
The Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has disassociated itself from a wave of fraudulent social media posts and fake websites claiming to represent the company.
In a statement issued by its Corporate Affairs Department, GOIL described the circulating advertisements as fake and unauthorised, warning the public not to be deceived.
“GOIL has not launched any investment scheme that guarantees monthly returns on shares or cards,” the statement clarified. “Any use of GOIL’s name, logo, or image in such promotions is fraudulent and intended to mislead the public.”
The company urged Ghanaians to completely ignore such schemes and avoid engaging with their promoters. Instead, it advised the public to rely solely on its official communication channels for accurate information.
