The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 11 new Mpox cases, bringing the national total to 880 as of November 20, 2025.
This follows a previous report on October 14, 2025, when 22 new infections were recorded, raising the total to 735 at that time.
Mpox spreads through close contact with an infected person.
Health officials are urging the public to practice good hygiene and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms appear.
Common symptoms include fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue. Anyone experiencing these signs should visit the nearest health facility.
Earlier data showed that October cases involved people aged 1 to 50 years from Western, Bono, Greater Accra, and Western North regions.
At the time, two patients were admitted to health facilities.
The death toll remains at three, with no new fatalities reported. Since the outbreak began, 3,506 suspected cases have been reported, and over 3,800 contacts identified.
The GHS has strengthened its response by conducting workshops in eight regions on Mpox symptoms, wound care, home isolation, and psychosocial support.
These sessions target staff at ART sites, STI clinics, and other healthcare facilities to improve case detection and management.
Public education efforts have also increased, including weekly social media updates and a multilingual telephone survey to assess awareness of Mpox prevention measures.
As of mid-October, more than 14,490 people (73.9% of the target group) had been vaccinated, mostly individuals aged 20 to 39 years.
