Ghana’s coronavirus cases now 408; death toll rises to eight
The confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ghana have increased to 408 as the death toll rises to eight.
According to the Ghana Health Service, the latest figure is as a result of the restrictive measures introduced by the government over the past 12 days.
The Ghana Health Service surveillance team reported that as of 11 pm on April 10, a total of 27,346 persons had been tested with 408 being positive for COVID-19.
The breakdown of the 408 positive cases are as follows: four have been treated, discharged and have tested negative, while 394 cases have been categorised as mild disease on treatment.
It added that two are moderate-to-severe cases and none are currently on ventilators.
Of the 408 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 205 were reported from the routine surveillance, 88 from enhanced surveillance activities and 115 from travellers under mandatory quarantine in both Accra and Tamale.
Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Northern, North East, Upper East and Upper West regions.
