Award-winning singer Kuami Eugene believes that rapper Medikal has the potential to win the prestigious Artiste of the Year category at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

Speaking in an interview, Kuami Eugene stated that Medikal currently enjoys considerable public backing and has cultivated a large fan base that could greatly impact the results of the awards.

He stated that, despite the fierce competition for the top honour, artists with significant mass appeal tend to have a better likelihood of receiving votes from the public.

He pointed out that while artists like Wendy Shay also have substantial support, Medikal’s rapport with the public seems to be even more pronounced.

Kuami Eugene elaborated that when an artist experiences a successful year along with robust fan backing, it typically has a favourable effect on award schemes that rely on public voting.

His remarks contribute to the increasing discussions regarding this year’s Artiste of the Year competition, which has sparked considerable debate among music enthusiasts and industry professionals.

Medikal faces formidable competitors, including Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton.
