The National Film Authority (NFA) has expressed deep sorrow over the reported passing of Ghanaian actress and creative industry stakeholder, Beverly Afaglo.
In a statement, the Authority described Beverly Afaglo as a vibrant and respected figure within Ghana’s film and entertainment space, whose talent, dedication, and contribution played a significant role in promoting Ghanaian storytelling.
According to the NFA, her work both on screen and within the wider creative community left a lasting impact on the growth of the local film industry.
The Authority noted that her presence, professionalism, and commitment to the arts earned her admiration across the industry and among audiences.
On behalf of its Board, Management, and Staff, the NFA extended condolences to her family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire creative arts fraternity during what it described as a difficult period.
The Authority added that the Ghanaian film industry had lost one of its cherished talents and joined all those mourning her passing.
Beverly Afaglo reportedly died after a two-year battle with cancer at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema on Saturday night, just days before what would have been her 43rd birthday on May 28.
