Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is expected to unveil a new economic strategy when he presents the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 23, outlining the government’s shift from economic stabilisation to growth.
The review will assess the implementation of the 2026 Budget during the first half of the year and provide updated projections on key economic indicators, including inflation, economic growth, revenue performance, public debt and the exchange rate.
According to reports, the Minister is expected to announce measures to boost private sector-led growth, support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), create jobs, improve domestic revenue mobilisation and sustain fiscal discipline while protecting critical social spending.
The Mid-Year Budget Review is also expected to provide updates on Ghana’s IMF-supported programme, debt management efforts, infrastructure financing and reforms aimed at improving productivity and attracting investment.
The presentation is expected to set the government’s economic priorities for the remainder of 2026, with businesses, investors and development partners closely watching for policy measures designed to translate recent macroeconomic gains into sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
