Barreto picks squad for Kotoko vs Olympics clash

Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Barreto, has named a 19-man squad for their league clash against Accra Great Olympics on Friday.

Olympics will be playing host to the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium in the matchday 20 games of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Goalkeepers Razak Abalora and Felix Annan are the two safe pairs available for the coach as Kwame Baah is dropped.

In-form Christopher Nettey,  Samuel Frimpong,  Wahab Adams,  Habib Mohammed,  Ismail Ganiu, Mubarik Yussif, Patrick Asmah, and  Imoro Ibrahim make the defensive list.

In the absence of Fabio Gama, who is serving a one-match ban, two players returning from injury, namely Emmanuel Sarkodie and Richard Senanu, have been included in midfield, which has Latif’s likes Anabila, Salifu Mudasiru, and Godfred Asiamah and Emmanuel Gyamfi.

The club will rely on Brazilian attacker Vinicius Michael, Andy Kumi Francis and Augustine Okrah as the leading marksmen.

The match is highlighted as the top liner of this weekend round fixtures as it is a clash between the current top two sides in the league.

Kotoko sit on top of the league log with 34 points and are poised to avenge a painful 1-0 defeat suffered at the hands of the Wonder club when the two meet in the first leg encounter.

On the other hand, second place Olympics hope to return to winning ways after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Legon Cities over the weekend.

A win will put them on top of the league ahead of Kotoko.
