Ayawaso East by-election: Police warn troublemakers ahead of election

The Accra Region Police Command has assured the public of its preparedness to provide very comprehensive security measures before, during, and after the parliamentary election in the Ayawaso East Constituency, which is set for today, Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

In a press release dated March 2, the Command indicated that an adequate number of police personnel have been assigned to all designated polling stations and critical locations within the constituency to guarantee a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process.

“The Command has deployed adequate police personnel across all designated polling stations and key locations to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process,” the statement, signed by Supt Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, read in part.

The Police assured the public that officers will maintain a visible presence and conduct regular patrols before, during, and after the election to avert any disruptions to public peace and security.

The Command warned against acts of violence, intimidation, or the dissemination of misinformation that could compromise the integrity of the electoral process.

“Persons found violating the law will be dealt with in accordance with Ghanaian law,” the statement cautioned.

Ayawaso East residents were encouraged to fulfil their civic responsibilities peacefully and to report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.
