Areas to be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance this week

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of scheduled maintenance activities across various regions, commencing on Monday, February 16, 2026.

These activities, planned for the Tema, Greater Accra, Accra East, and Central regions, aim to enhance service delivery but will lead to temporary power outages in numerous communities.

In the Tema Region, ECG announced it “will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” with outages expected to last from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The initial exercise in this region is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, affecting “Comm. 16, 17 & 24, Sydal Farms, Adjel Kodjo, Japan City, Global, Teteman, Baatsonaa (Total & Cluster of Schools), Resolve Hospital, Timber Market, Bakeshop, Marina Mall and surrounding areas.”

The subsequent day, Wednesday, February 18, another maintenance activity in Tema will impact “FOS Aluminium, Kakalika Plaza, Shell Signboard, Kpogas and surrounding areas.”

A third notification for the Tema Region, dated Thursday, 19th February, identifies “Lashibi, Emef Estates, High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Jotafa, Sakumono (Village & Estates) and surrounding areas” as the affected locations.

In the Greater Accra Region, residents in several areas will face extended outage periods from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. An ECG announcement for Tuesday, February 17, specified that regions including “Odorkor, Awoshie, odorgonnor, Gbawel, Israel last stop, Agradaa, Tuba, Krokrobite, Old Bortianor, old Aplaku, and surrounding areas” would be impacted.

Additional maintenance activities in the region are planned for Wednesday, 18th February, affecting “Wiaboman, Glefe, Kotoku Shell Filling Station, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Kings University, and surrounding areas,” and for Friday, 20th February, impacting “Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Cassava farm, Oshiyie, and surrounding areas”.

In the Central Region, ECG announced that on Tuesday, February 17, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the outage will affect “Eduyaw Owane, Mando, Abaasa, Essarkyir, Goamoamaim, Baah, Afransie, Amai, Eshiem, Entumbil, Ochiso and surrounding areas”.
