NPP holds thanksgiving service in Goaso after successful internal elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a national thanksgiving service at the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Goaso in the Ahafo Region to thank God for the peaceful conduct of its internal elections.

The service brought together party members and church leaders to express gratitude for the successful election of the party’s executives and flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

It also formed part of the NPP’s preparations for the 2028 general elections, with the party seeking divine guidance, protection and wisdom ahead of the polls.

Addressing the congregation, General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua said the party considered it important to worship with members of the SDA Church, who observe Saturday as their day of worship, to thank God for the peaceful nature of its internal electoral processes.

He said the party was also seeking God’s direction as it works towards its ambition of winning the 2028 general elections.

Meanwhile, National Chairman John Boadu said Dr. Bawumia would address concerns among SDA members about elections being held on Saturdays if he become president in 2028.
According to Mr Boadu, the NPP flagbearer would speak on the issue at the appropriate time and explain the measures he intends to take.

The Presiding Superintendent and President of the SDA Church, Jonathan Owusu, urged the NPP to prioritise unity and teamwork as it prepares for the next general elections.

He commended the party for organising the thanksgiving service after its internal elections, describing the gesture as a positive sign of unity. He encouraged members to work together towards their electoral goal.
