The Ghana Police Service has deployed an additional specialised operations team and a multi-purpose armoured vehicle to Nkwanta Municipality to strengthen security and support ongoing efforts to maintain peace in the area.
The team arrived in the municipality on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, to reinforce existing police personnel and support joint police-military operations aimed at maintaining law and order.
In a press release, the Police said the deployment was intended to enhance security operations in the municipality.
The Service assured residents that joint security forces remained committed to protecting lives and property, safeguarding public safety and sustaining peace.
It also urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel as operations continue in the area.
Residents were further encouraged to volunteer credible information that could assist the security agencies in their work, while refraining from activities that could undermine ongoing operations.
The latest deployment forms part of ongoing joint security efforts to restore calm in the municipality as tensions continue to rise over renewed conflict.
