The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has officially suspended the implementation of its planned inspection regime for imported used vehicles.
In a public notice issued on Monday, 5 October 2026, the authority informed vehicle importers and other stakeholders that the inspection exercise had been suspended.
The GSA did not provide a reason for the suspension.
According to the notice, a new date for the commencement of the pre-shipment inspection exercise will be announced in due course.
The notice was signed by the Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority, Prof. George Agyei.
The suspension concerns the planned pre-shipment inspection of used vehicles imported into Ghana, an exercise that was scheduled to be conducted before the vehicles were shipped to the country.
