Madina MP Francis-Xavier Sosu is in stable condition after he became unwell while speaking at an event at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Thursday, September 24.
Parliament said the MP received immediate assistance before being taken to a medical facility for further attention.
In a statement signed by its Director of Media Relations, David Sebastian Damoah, Parliament confirmed that Mr Sosu remains under the care of his medical team.
“The Honourable Member received immediate assistance at the event and was transferred to a medical facility, where he is receiving medical attention,” the statement said.
“Parliament is pleased to confirm that Hon. Sosu is in stable condition and is under the care of his medical team.”
The incident occurred while Mr Sosu was sharing his experiences on leadership and public service. Members of the protocol team reportedly intervened after he appeared unwell and escorted him from the stage.
Parliament thanked GIMPA management and staff, medical personnel and others who responded to the situation, as well as members of the public for their prayers and goodwill.
It also appealed to the public and media organisations to stop circulating the video and avoid speculation about the cause of the MP’s condition, citing respect for his privacy and that of his family.
