No increase in teacher licensure registration fee — NTC

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has refuted claims that it has raised the registration fee for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

The Council confirmed that the fee continues to be GH¢500, which includes GH¢450 for registration and GH¢50 for indexing, with no changes made since 2023.

This clarification follows the dissemination of information on social media suggesting that prospective candidates would be required to pay a higher fee to register for the examination.

In a statement released by its Public Affairs Unit, the NTC noted that it had been made aware of a misleading publication alleging an increase in the examination fee.

“NTC wishes to state that the GTLE fee remains GH¢500 (GH¢450 for Registration and GH¢50 for Indexing), same as it has been since 2023,” the Council said, adding, “there has been no increment.”

The Council encouraged the public to ignore any publications that imply an increase in the GTLE registration fee.
