Tamale City and Semper Fi played out a goalless draw in their Group B encounter at the 2026 X1 DOL Super Cup at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The result made the match the only fixture on Matchday One to end without a goal, with neither side able to secure the three points.
Tamale City approached the game cautiously, adopting a defensive strategy aimed at limiting Semper Fi’s attacking options.
Semper Fi enjoyed much of the possession during the opening half and controlled the game for long periods but struggled to break down a disciplined Tamale City defence.
The Northern-based side remained organised at the back and successfully frustrated Semper Fi, who found it difficult to create clear opportunities in the final third.
The second half was more open, with both teams showing greater attacking ambition. Chances began to emerge at both ends as the two sides pushed for the winning goal.
However, the breakthrough never came. Tamale City’s defence continued to hold firm, while Semper Fi was unable to convert their opportunities into goals.
The final whistle confirmed a 0-0 draw, giving both teams one point each from their opening Group B match.
The result leaves Nsuopon Fidelity at the top of the group with three points after their 1-0 victory over FC AshantiGold.
Tamale City and Semper Fi occupy the next positions with one point each, while AshantiGold are bottom of the group without a point following their defeat.
The 2026 X1 DOL Super Cup brings together teams competing in Ghana’s Division One League, with the tournament providing clubs an opportunity to test their squads and prepare for the upcoming season.
