France captain Kylian Mbappé has expressed his gratitude to his teammates, coaches and supporters following the country’s emotional journey at the FIFA World Cup.
In a heartfelt message shared after the tournament, the Paris Saint-Germain forward thanked millions of French fans who stood behind the team throughout the competition, describing the experience as a special moment filled with pride, passion and unforgettable memories.
Mbappé admitted that the team’s failure to lift the World Cup trophy was painful, but insisted that the players gave everything in their attempt to achieve success.
He said that while the outcome was not what they hoped for, the team could still be proud of the effort and commitment shown throughout the tournament.
“We are not bringing home a collective trophy. It hurts, and it will hurt for a while,” Mbappé said, adding that the players had given their best and created memories that would remain with them forever.
The French star also praised his teammates, explaining that his individual achievements would not have been possible without their support, hard work and dedication.
According to Mbappé, representing France at the World Cup has always been a childhood dream. He noted that after appearing in three tournaments, winning one and captaining his country in another, he remains honoured to have carried the national team’s hopes on the biggest stage.
