NAM1 files witness statement, cross-examination to resume July 17

The Accra High Court has completed the Case Management Conference (CMC) in the trial involving MenzGold Ghana Limited founder, Nana Appiah Mensah, widely known as NAM1.

Following the completion of the CMC, the court has scheduled the next hearing for Friday, July 17, 2026.

On that day, NAM1 will return to the witness box to continue his cross-examination.

The Head of the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of MenzGold (CACM), Fred Forson, confirmed that NAM1 has finally submitted his witness statement as directed by the court.

According to Forson, the court first instructed NAM1 to file the statement in 2024. However, he only submitted the document on Monday, July 13, 2026.

“Since 2024, the court gave the order for NAM1 to file his witness statement. He has filed it today, so we are done with the CMC,” he said.

Forson also disclosed that the court has set a timetable that will allow the trial to continue through the rest of July.

He expressed hope that the next hearing would bring the cross-examination to an end.

“We are hoping that by Friday we finish with the cross-examination so that we can bring finality to the case,” he said.

Prosecutors have charged Nana Appiah Mensah with several offences, including defrauding by false pretence, operating a gold dealership without a licence, and money laundering.

He has denied all the charges and remains on bail.

The case forms part of the legal process that followed the collapse of MenzGold Ghana Limited, an incident that left thousands of customers unable to access their investments and seeking refunds.

The trial will resume on Friday, July 17, when NAM1 continues his testimony under cross-examination.
