Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari has etched his name into the history books after a remarkable group-stage campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Atlas Lions star produced another outstanding performance in Morocco’s 4-2 victory over Haiti, helping his side secure qualification to the Round of 32 while setting multiple records along the way.

The 24-year-old has now joined Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri as the country’s all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup history with three goals.

His achievement is even more remarkable considering he reached the mark in a single tournament.

Saibari also became the first African player ever to score in all three group-stage matches of a single World Cup edition.

His consistency has been one of the major reasons behind Morocco’s successful campaign in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The PSV Eindhoven midfielder had already been making headlines before the Haiti match. He scored against Brazil in Morocco’s opening game before netting the winner in a 1-0 victory over Scotland.

That strike against Scotland arrived after just 69 seconds, making it the fastest goal of the 2026 World Cup at the time and the quickest goal in Morocco’s World Cup history.

His latest goal has also made him the first African player to score in each of his first three career World Cup appearances, another milestone that highlights his impact on the global stage.

Morocco finished the group stage with seven points and advanced to the knockout rounds after recording two wins and a draw. The North Africans ended second in Group C behind Brazil on goal difference.
