The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has announced plans to fly another group of Ghanaian citizens back home on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to assist nationals who wish to return to Ghana.
In a statement, the Commission instructed all approved passengers to report to its offices on the evening of Saturday, June 6. Officials will conduct verification, complete pre-departure procedures, and brief travellers before the journey.
The High Commission also appealed to individuals who appear on the evacuation list but no longer intend to travel to inform the office by noon on Thursday, June 4.
According to the Commission, timely communication will create room for other qualified applicants to take up available seats on the flight.
Travellers have been reminded that each passenger may check in two bags, with each bag not exceeding 23 kilograms. The Commission stressed that it will not accept luggage above the approved weight limit.
Parents and guardians travelling with children must carry all necessary documents. These include consent letters where applicable, as well as road-to-health cards or children’s weighing cards.
The Commission further explained that passengers who have been issued Emergency Travel Certificates will receive the documents at the airport before departure.
The latest evacuation exercise forms part of measures being undertaken by Ghanaian authorities to support citizens in South Africa who have chosen to return home.
