Sammi Awuku, Member of Parliament for Akuapim North, has called on the government to urgently address ongoing power outages, warning that the situation is affecting students preparing for national examinations.

In a Facebook post, the MP expressed frustration over the unstable electricity supply, describing it as worrying for households and students.

“We’re all experiencing it again, this on-and-off power situation and honestly, it’s becoming quite worrying,” he stated.

He further appealed to the government to act swiftly, stressing the need for a stable learning environment for students writing and preparing for examinations:

“At the very least, let’s ensure our students are given a fair and stable environment to prepare for and write their exams… Please ACT Now!”

According to him, the intermittent power supply is disrupting revision schedules for candidates sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and those preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He added that the impact of the power situation extends beyond students, affecting businesses, young entrepreneurs, and households across the country
