The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has honoured former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with a medal and citation for his contributions to Ghana’s development and his role in promoting peace.
The honour was presented during the 27th anniversary celebration of the Asantehene’s reign, held at the Jubilee Hall of the Manhyia Palace.
The event formed part of a grand gala attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, diplomats and members of the business community.

During the ceremony, Nana Akufo-Addo was praised for working closely with traditional authorities and supporting initiatives that promote stability across the country.
He was especially recognised for his involvement in chieftaincy conflict resolution, including efforts that contributed to lasting peace in areas affected by long-standing disputes.
The citation also noted his government’s focus on national development, including policies aimed at improving education and infrastructure.
His leadership was described as one that encouraged cooperation between state institutions and traditional rulers.
