The Ghana Tourism Authority has initiated an inspection and license renewal exercise aimed at food, beverage, and entertainment businesses throughout the Greater Accra Region.
This initiative, which commenced on Monday, April 20, 2026, is part of the efforts to ensure that establishments adhere to necessary public health, safety, and operational standards while safeguarding the well-being of customers.
As stated by the Authority, the inspection will encompass a diverse array of establishments, including chop bars, food vendors, drinking bars, pubs, fast food outlets, snack bars, and outdoor catering services.
Operators are encouraged to fully cooperate with the officials conducting the exercise, with the understanding that all inspectors will possess valid identification cards for verification purposes.
The Authority also recommended that business owners ensure their licenses and other pertinent operational documents are current to prevent penalties.
Furthermore, it emphasised that ongoing regulatory measures to enhance standards and foster professionalism within Ghana’s hospitality and tourism sector will be rigorously enforced.
