The Bibiani Circuit Court has remanded the head pastor of Anointed Grace Prayer Ministry at Kuffour Camp, Abofrem, Richmond Akwasi Frimpong, and two others for two weeks over the alleged attempt to bury a five-month-old baby alive.

The defendants, Frimpong, 36, Beatrice Agyapomaa, 23, and Emmanuel Appiah, 53, were presented before the court on four charges following their apprehension at Abofrem. A fourth individual, Emmanuel Donkor, remains at large.

Prosecutors report that the incident took place on April 9, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., when Frimpong is accused of attempting to murder the infant, Anaya Achiaa, who is five months and two weeks old, in violation of Section 47 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Furthermore, Frimpong and Agyapomaa have both been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, in contravention of Section 23(1) of Act 29, for allegedly conspiring to act together with a shared intent to commit murder.

The prosecutor added that Appiah faces a charge of abetment of crime, contrary to Section 20(1) of Act 29, for his purported involvement in facilitating the crime.

According to police, the case emerged after witnesses intervened at a refuse dump in Abofrem, where the infant was discovered alive. The baby was later rescued and transported to the Abofrem Clinic for medical care.

Meanwhile, authorities have revealed that investigations are ongoing, and the accused persons are scheduled to reappear in court in two weeks.
