8 teenage girls caught in GH¢20,000 theft in Nkwanta South

Eight teenage girls between the ages of 13 and 17 have been arrested by police in Nkwanta South in the Oti Region after allegedly stealing over GH¢20,000 in cash and valuables.

The incident took place at a private home that had reportedly been targeted multiple times by unknown thieves.

According to police reports, the suspects are all students from local schools in the area.

They are believed to have formed a group that carefully monitored the victim’s movements, striking only when the homeowner was away during school breaks.

The identity of the victim remains unknown, but neighbours say they are deeply concerned by the repeated break-ins.

Police say one of the suspects, who is currently missing and believed to be with her parents, is thought to have received GH¢2,000 from the stolen money.

Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help track down the remaining individuals involved.

Meanwhile, all arrested suspects are currently in custody, assisting the police with their investigation.
