An accident along the Winneba-Mankessim section of the N1 Highway has left twelve critically injured.
The accident involved a Voxy, a Nissan Altima, and a Hyundai Elantra.
The victims are reportedly receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
Reports suggest that the Toyota Voxy, with the registration number GN 9883-25, collided head-on with the Nissan Altima, which also has the registration number GW 1895-09, due to an improper overtaking manoeuvre by the driver of the Voxy.
After the collision, the Hyundai Elantra, registered as GR 1972-15, crashed into the rear of the Toyota Voxy.
All seven passengers in the Voxy, along with the driver, have incurred life-threatening injuries. Additionally, four occupants of the Nissan Altima have also sustained various injuries as a result of the accident.
All twelve individuals involved have been swiftly transported to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service based in Apam, who promptly responded to the scene of the incident.
