YEA endorses The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has commended The Ghana Report for its groundbreaking initiative to congregate public and private sector players to tackle the nation’s unemployment issue.

At the launch of The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair on Friday, September 6, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Mr. Kwasi Afriyie, the Corporate Affairs Director of YEA, expressed the agency’s support and commitment to partner with The Ghana Report.

Citing the security threat that unemployment poses to Ghana and the need to curb the canker, Mr. Afriyie pledged YEA’s support to ensure the success of the job expo.

“We are happy to be partners of The Ghana Report because they are championing an agenda that falls directly in line with our current policy direction as an agency. What we have seen with the Ghana Report is the championing of this agenda. We can’t, but we will help them, partner with them, and make sure this is happening.

“Let’s commend The Ghana Report for this very initiative. We want people to know that we are in full partnership with The Ghana Report, and we are going to make sure this happens all in a bid to create employment for the young people of Ghana,” Mr. Afriyie said.

He said The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair is the first time a private company has taken such an initiative, as most job fairs over the years have been by public institutions.

While these job fairs focused on soft skills in the past, this event emphasizes the artisanal area, which is in line with YEA’s development empowerment agenda, he stated.

The Group Chief Executive of I-ZAR, Rashida Saani, also disclosed that The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair will give Ghanaian youth the opportunity to thrive and shine.

The seasoned entrepreneur stressed that the two-week event will provide a fair platform for the youth to showcase their talents and innovation and access employment opportunities.

This, the I-ZAR GCE said, will be done on a level playing field as participants will be judged purely on their qualifications, skills, and the value they bring, promoting a fair and transparent hiring process.

Organised by The Ghana Report, a subsidiary of I-ZAR Group and winner of the Best News Portal of the Year and the Best Portal in Corporate Social Responsibilities at the 25th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, the fair will take place from Thursday, September 19, to Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Independence Square and the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The fair, which aims to bring together employers, entrepreneurs, job seekers, and innovators to explore employment opportunities, will offer over 5000 sustainable jobs to the youth.

Job seekers, entrepreneurs, and employers are encouraged to register by calling 0244985099/0534521655 or visiting jobs.theghanareport.com.
