Jordan Ayew, Leicester City’s newest addition, has revealed that manager Steve Cooper was the key factor in his decision to join the club.
Ayew, who signed a two-year contract after moving from Crystal Palace, previously played under Cooper at Swansea City.
“As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve,” Ayew explained after signing a two-year contract. “Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets.”
He expressed his enthusiasm for reuniting with Cooper, stating, “When a manager wants you, it motivates you to work hard and improve under their guidance.”
At 32, Ayew is eager to continue learning and growing as a player. He acknowledged his reduced role at Crystal Palace under new manager Oliver Glasner, which led to his move to Leicester.
Ayew’s goal is now to contribute to the Foxes’ efforts to maintain their Premier League status, following their promotion after winning the Championship.
