Tim Sherwood backs Harry Kane to win Ballon d’Or

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes Harry Kane deserves to win the Ballon d’Or, insisting the Bayern Munich striker has earned the right to claim football’s most prestigious individual award.

Sherwood threw his support behind the England captain, arguing that this could be Kane’s best opportunity to secure the honour after years of impressive performances at club and international level.

“I really, really do. I think he deserves it this year,” Sherwood said.

“If he doesn’t win it now, he ain’t never going to win it.”

The former Premier League manager also referenced Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal, suggesting the teenage sensation would have several future opportunities to win the award.

“Yamal, I mean, let him win it. You’re going to win another 10,” he added.

Sherwood maintained that Kane’s time to be recognised among the world’s best players had arrived, describing the striker as a deserving candidate.

“I think it’s his time. I really do. And he 100% deserves it,” he said.
