Source The Ghana Report

Thunderstorms and rain are expected to hit parts of the country from mid-afternoon into the evening today, March 18, 2025, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has announced.

The agency, in a weather update, said a mist or fog patches will form in some coastal, forest, and hilly areas early in the morning, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies.

Sunny conditions are expected to lead the day, but as we move into the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms or rain of varying intensities are likely across much of southern Ghana.

Areas such as Koforidua, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, Sefwi Bekwai, Kete Krachi, Sunyani, Goaso, and Techiman are particularly at risk, with thunderstorms anticipated and a 30-40% chance of rain.

In contrast, the extreme upper regions of the north, including Bolgatanga and Nalerigu, will likely remain slightly hazy.

Coastal cities like Accra, Takoradi, and Cape Coast may see partly cloudy skies.

GMet is urging residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions as the weather begins to shift.
