Three COVID-19 patients in Intensive Care Unit at UGMC

Three patients are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

JoyNews reported that the three patients happen to be part of the people who were under mandatory quarantine.

The Chief Executive Officer of UGMC, Dr Darius Osei, also said that eight people are being taken through regular hospital management at the centre.

But was quick to that the eight are doing well and are being monitored.

Dr Osei assured journalists that the facility remained committed to helping patients fighting the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The centre currently has eleven COVID-19 patients in its care.

Ghana’s coronavirus cases as of April 22, 2020, stood at 1,154 with 120 recovered patients and 9 deaths.

Regions that have reported cases remain the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Volta, Upper East, Upper West, Central, Western and North East.
