These beauty trends will make you feel effortlessly gorgeous

Beauty trends come and go fast. And you never know what will make a comeback next. One day, you’re obsessed with glitter, the other, you’re learning how to do the 2016 eyebrows, even though we swore not to go there ever again.

Yet, I find that some trends require more effort than others. So, when I want to feel effortlessly gorgeous with minimal effort, I always return to these staples.

Skin That Looks Like Skin

There’s a wild thing happening right now. The drugstore foundation isn’t trying to be cement anymore. The texture that used to feel so heavy and chalky on my skin is long gone. Skin tints and balmy formulas are my new companions. I love how they’re letting freckles pop out and tiny marks stay visible.

Strangely enough, that makes the whole thing prettier. It’s so liberating knowing that you can’t hide a juicy pimple even if you try really hard. Besides, heavy foundation can clog pores and damage your skin. With these alternatives, I’ve said goodbye to post-makeup breakouts, and so can you.

Picture-Perfect Simile

Taking good care of your teeth shouldn’t even be mentioned here, as it’s one of those default things you learn as a child and carry throughout your life. I discovered the hard way that good oral hygiene isn’t just brushing and flossing twice a day. With new dental trends shaping the industry, we now have many new ways to improve the health and appearance of our pearly whites.

Visiting the Penrith Dental Clinic is the first step towards beautifying your teeth. From whitening to deciding to go for veneers, there’s a cosmetic option for everyone. I went for veneers because they fixed a couple of dental imperfections I used to struggle with. I also chose them because now I don’t have to invest in teeth whitening anymore. It’s girl math, or whatever they call it.

Shiny Lips, Like Glass

To me, gloss is not back because it never really left my purse, but now it’s shinier than the nineties ever imagined. However, it is repackaged a little, so now you can go for lip oils if you want extra shine and juiciness.

I prefer regular gloss because it is appropriate for both gym sessions and the workplace. Oils tend to feel heavier on my lips, but if you don’t have sensory issues, you’ll be good to go.

The best part is that modern formulas avoid the weird corner build-up. That’s a win for everyone. If the shine makes you look like you’ve just bitten into a nectarine, then the trend is doing exactly what it should.

Brows That Stop Yelling

Once upon a time, brows shouted from across the room. They were sharp, carved, and intimidating. Back then, it all made sense, and it didn’t help that the whole ritual around drawing your eyebrows was so calming.

Nowadays, brows are quieter. I’ve made peace with softer arches, brushed upward a little, that give me that effortless, clean girl look. The colour should be slightly lighter than expected. If you go darker, you will feel like there are two slugs sitting above your eyes. Don’t ask how I know that.

Nails That Double as Jewellery

Minimal is over, at least for nails. Shapes stretch longer, sometimes squared in a bold way, sometimes almond with a sharp edge that looks like it could open an envelope. I personally prefer to keep them on the shorter side, and I compensate by going for a bold design or a colour choice. Colours move between chrome, velvet textures, and jelly transparency.

The best part is that nail art isn’t kitschy anymore; it’s accessory-level important. The drama is the point, and it’s on point. I am one of those people who will order press-ons from another country if the design is pretty. And given you don’t need to do your nails every day, this trend definitely fits your “effortlessly gorgeous” vision.

Liner That Refuses to Stay Linear

Graphic eyeliner isn’t behaving either. Instead of neat wings, you can go for loops, swirls, or shapes that don’t match. Another cool thing is that bold colours are widely available. Back in the day, you’d be happy to stumble upon a blue shade. Nowadays, even blue is basic; you want orange and yellow instead.

I managed to get my hands on a water-activated eyeliner palette, and it’s safe to say I haven’t stopped using it since. I especially enjoy cleaning it and seeing clean lines emerging underneath a dirty tissue.

Conclusion

If you want to be effortlessly gorgeous, you have to look beyond the trends. To me, the goal has always been about finding a balance between what’s trending and my preferences because nothing makes me more gorgeous and confident than remaining true to myself.
