Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, statesman, and politician has expressed his disappointment in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he calls the failure of the party to manage the affairs of the nation effectively.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, who was Ambassador to Serbia and President of the Ghana Football Association at different stages of the erstwhile Kufour Administration, indicated that the NPP government has lost focus by failing to emulate policies implemented by previous leaders of the country to alleviate the economic hardships faced by Ghanaians.
To him, the NPP government is not functioning due to the appointment of incapable people to occupy prominent positions to steer the affairs of the state. He advised the president to reverse those appointments immediately.
According to him, the exportation of goods from Ghana such as agricultural products brings more revenue to the state and that is why he showed much interest in the Planting for Food and Jobs policy instituted by President Akufo-Addo.
He suggested that some of the raw products exported should be processed in Ghana before being exported to other countries.
He lamented the failure of the NPP government to sustain the Planting for Food and Jobs policy as he said “the policy has totally collapsed”.
He also questioned the transportation of foodstuffs from farm gates to the forecourt of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture targeting civil servants.
“The Planting for Food and Jobs Market (PFJM) can never succeed. It will collapse. Is Accra the only place that has people? What about Sekondi Takoradi, Tamale, and other places? he questioned in an exclusive interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Joy News.
Speaking on the failure of the government in upholding the laws of the state, he questioned why people who violate the laws of the state are left unpunished whilst innocent and vulnerable people without the means to defend themselves are made to face the law.
He called on the government to work effectively to meet the needs and demands of Ghanaians by learning from the good policies the past leaders formulated to solve problems in the country.
