Social media cheers Akufo-Addo, teases Mahama as EC declares results
The Electoral Commission has declared President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the 2020 presidential elections, securing a second-term which eluded his predecessor, John Dramani Mahama.
“At the end of the polls Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo obtained 6,730, 413 votes being 51.59% of the total valid votes, John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress obtained 6,214, 889 being 47.36% of the total valid votes cast,”
“I, therefore, declare Nana Akufo-Addo as president-elect,” Jean Mensa said.
After the declaration, some party fanatics and sympathizers took to various social media platforms to celebrate the victory.
