Six-week-old baby among latest to die of COVID-19

A six-week-old baby has become one of the latest to die after testing positive for the coronavirus in England, Sky News has reported.

The baby was among 332 people who have died after testing positive for the virus, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in England’s hospitals to 22,764.

The oldest patient to have died from the virus in England was 103. But 22 of the latest 332 people who died from the virus were aged between 40 and 96. These people had no known underlying health conditions.

In Europe, the United Kingdom (UK) tops the list of countries with the most deaths from coronavirus.

The UK has a total of 206,715 COVID-19 infections, out of which 30,615 persons have died as of May 8, 2020.

Globally, the USA is the worst-hit country with over a million COVID-19 infections. 1,293,907 have been infected with the disease in USA alone whiles 76,998 have died as a result.

Coronavirus cases have hit 3,947,820 worldwide, according to the World Health Organization’s website.
