See the areas that will be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance today

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled emergency and planned maintenance work taking place today, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, across various regions in the country.

These maintenance activities are part of ECG’s ongoing effort to enhance the reliability of the power supply. During this time, some communities may face temporary power outages.

In the Western Region, emergency maintenance is set to occur between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The communities affected include Ateiku, Esaman, Jerusalem, Akyempim, Akosombo, Kubekrom, Nsadweso, Subrie, and nearby areas. This brief outage is essential for addressing urgent issues and ensuring stable electricity delivery in the region.

In the Ashanti Region, residents of several suburbs should prepare for an eight-hour power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas are Santase, Odeneho Kwadaso, OWASS, CAC University, Fankyenebra, Patase, Apire, Ampatia, Trede, Bebu, Ampabame No.1 and No.2, Edwenase, Kwadaso, Ohwumase, Asouyeboah, Tanoso, Takyiman, Denkyembuoso, Yabi, Kromoase, Agric Nema, Akyeremade, Twedie, Foase, Antoakrom, Manso Nkwanta, Nweneso, Trabuom, Boko, Yawkrom, Chichibon, Manso Adubia, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

In the Volta Region, maintenance work will affect Hodzo and neighbouring areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This initiative aims to improve service delivery and reduce unplanned outages.

Residents of the Greater Accra Region, specifically those in Gbawe Top Base, McCarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Tetegu, Glefe, Wiaboman, Mallam Junction, South McCarthy Hill, White Cross, Choice, Sampa Valley, Kingshasha, Oyibi, Amrahia, Lakeside Estates, Community 6 and 8, New Legon, and adjoining communities, should expect power outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Finally, the Tema Region will have planned maintenance from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting Jericho, Roman Down, Underbridge Market, Kanawu, Adjei Kodjo, Community 25, Bulasu, Ghana Flag, Afienya Zongo, Ahwiam, Magotsonya, Akplabanya, Goi, Kportitse Kope, Songor Salt, Mataheko, and surrounding areas.

ECG sincerely apologises for any inconvenience this maintenance might cause and reassures customers that these efforts are aligned with its commitment to improving the quality and stability of the electricity supply.

“We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” ECG stated in its notices across the regions. Customers are advised to take necessary precautions during the period and treat all electrical appliances as live.
