Police on manhunt for suspect who assaulted an officer at Garu

The police in Garu are currently on a manhunt for a civilian who attacked a police officer on duty.

The incident reportedly occurred on October 6, 2025, when the officer and Community Protection Assistants (CPAs) were conducting stop-and-search operations along the Garu–Nakpanduri road.

The team intercepted a tricycle loaded with sacks of groundnuts and passengers sitting on top.

However, when the officer instructed the rider to stop and park properly for inspection, he became aggressive and attacked the officer.

The suspect fled the scene on his tricycle immediately after committing the crime.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to apprehend the rider and ensure he faces the full extent of the law.
