NPP Flagbearer race: Ken Agyapong No.1, Bawumia 3rd on ballot paper

Presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have voted for their positions on the ballot paper in anticipation of the party’s highly awaited presidential primary set for January 31, 2026.

The event, which took place at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Friday, October 10, 2025, resulted in former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong securing the number one position, placing him at the forefront of the ballot.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the former Minister for Agriculture, obtained the second position, while former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is widely regarded as a leading contender in the race, chose the third slot.

Former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and the party’s former General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, were assigned the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

The ballot process was supervised by the NPP’s National Elections Committee, adhering to the internal electoral regulations established on July 29, 2025.
