NPP Flagbearer Race: Bawumia Leads Polls At Super Delegates Congress
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken the lead at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Super Delegates Congress, The Ghana Report can confirm.
Provisional results from 17 collation centres exclusively available to The Ghana Report indicate that Dr. Bawumia has obtained 629 votes representing 68.15%, Kennedy Agyapong comes in second with 15.12% and Alan Kyerematen had 10.88%.
The former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, comes in fourth, followed by Francis Addai-Nimoh and Boakye Agyarko, both at fifth place, with 1.03%.
The congress is being held to elect five presidential aspirants to contest the party’s primaries in November this year.
The five aspirants who will secure the highest number of votes will go on to contest the primaries, where they will compete to become the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
