NPP Congress: I’ll challenge Akufo-Addo, Bawumia anytime – Kennedy Agyapong
Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong has threatened to challenge President Akufo-Addo and his Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia anytime.
In a viral video, an irate Assin Central MP is seen protesting the alleged mishandling of his agent at a polling centre.
“There will be a showdown in the country. President Akufo-Addo I will give you a showdown, I swear to God. Vice President I will give you a showdown as well. Why will you chase my agent away into a room? You will hear what will happen here. I will challenge President Akufo-Addo anytime.”
Over 900 delegates nationwide are expected to decide the fate of the 10 presidential aspirants.
The 10 aspirants are: former Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen, former Agriculture Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, former Railways Minister, Joe Ghartey, former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, an energy expert, Kwadwo Poku, and former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.
The others are Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Trade Minister, Francis Addai Nimoh, former Member of Parliament for Mampong and Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Voting is expected to end at 1pm.
