Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that no president has developed Ghana as much as the current President, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Speaking at his outdooring ceremony in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, NAPO praised President Akufo-Addo’s accomplishments and transformative leadership.
“Since independence in 1957 till today, we’ve not had any president that has helped Ghana like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“From 1957 to now, if you take your Kwame Nkrumah, no one has become president who has protected Ghana and moved it forward like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” NAPO stated.
He highlighted significant progress in various sectors under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the economy.
NAPO also emphasized the impact of government policies such as the Free SHS policy, the Agenda 111 hospitals and the One District, One Factory initiative.
The controversial statement has sparked widespread reactions, with many users expressing outrage and disbelief.
Critics argue that Dr. Nkrumah’s contributions to Ghana’s independence and infrastructure development are unparalleled, making the comparison inappropriate and disrespectful.
