NIB officials storm Ntim Fordjour’s residence to arrest him
Officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have surrounded the residence of the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, in an attempt to arrest him.
This was revealed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
The post reads, “N.I.B is currently at Hon. Ntim Firdjour’s residence to arrest him”.
Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the NPP, echoed this sentiment in a similar Facebook update.
It will be recalled that Rev. Ntim Fordjour recently raised serious concerns, alleging that two aircraft, which recently arrived in the country, are connected to money laundering and drug trafficking activities.
He has urged the government to take action by investigating these claims and updating the public on the situation.
In response to his remarks during a press conference at Parliament, government spokesperson Felix Kwakye-Ofosu dismissed these allegations as unfounded. He clarified that the aircraft in question landed due to minor technical issues and other legitimate grounds.
This situation has heightened political tensions between the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition NPP.
Some security experts and political figures are now advocating for Rev. Fordjour’s arrest to facilitate further questioning.
