Four people have died in a road crash involving a Toyota Voxy and a MAN diesel trailer at Anyinasin Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 28, 2026, prompting an emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
According to the GNFS, the Bunso Fire Station received a distress call at 5:21 am and arrived at the scene at 5:35 am with a seven-member team.
Firefighters worked to rescue victims trapped in the wreckage, secure the scene and help maintain the flow of traffic on the busy highway.
The Toyota Voxy, with registration number GR 9430-26, was completely damaged in the collision, while the MAN diesel trailer, registered GS 4064-26, sustained damage to its front compartment.
One male victim was rescued from the wreckage and transported to the Kibi Government Hospital for medical attention. The four deceased comprised three males and one female.
The exact circumstances that led to the crash have not yet been established. The GNFS said the cause remains under investigation, while the scene was subsequently handed over to the Police.
