Aspiring flagbearer on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, will file his nomination to contest the presidential primaries on March 21.
A press statement by the aide to the former President, Joyce Bawa Morgtari, said he will do this at 1 pm on Tuesday.
“Originally planned for Monday, the John Mahama Campaign says it is very sorry for the postponement, which is in response to a request from the party to reschedule because of the presentation of the party’s True State of the Nation Address on Monday.”
Mr. Mahama will, however, continue his first phase tour of the Ashanti Region, the statement added
Former President Mahama is facing internal opposition from three others – a former finance minister and governor of the central bank, Kwabena Duffuor, a former mayor of Kumasi Kojo Bonsu, and a businessman Ernest Kwaku Kobeah.
The election is expected to take off on May 13, 2023.
