NDC promised heaven but delivered hell — Moses Abor

Moses Abor, the Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of promising Ghanaians heaven during its campaign but delivering hell instead.

He said the party had pledged to make “honey drop on the tongues” of Ghanaians, yet citizens have experienced nothing but bitterness since it assumed office.

Speaking in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Rainbow Radio, Mr Abor said Ghanaians trusted the NDC to fulfil its campaign promises. Still, the party had failed to live up to their expectations.

He alleged that the NDC used lies to win power and argued that citizens were now beginning to realise they had been deceived.

Addressing questions about the organisational challenges confronting the NPP in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Abor admitted that internal problems affected the party’s performance in the 2024 general elections.

He explained that some NPP supporters refused to vote after feeling betrayed, particularly by government appointees who failed to offer them support when they needed it.

According to him, this gave the NDC an advantage.

Mr Abor acknowledged that the events leading up to the 2024 elections were widely known, noting that the party struggled because some appointees neglected members and failed to assist them when they sought help.

As a result, some supporters stayed away from the polls, while others were persuaded by the NDC’s promise of “heaven on earth.” However, he maintained that those supporters had since recognised what he described as the party’s false promises.

Looking ahead to the 2028 general elections, Mr Abor expressed confidence in the NPP’s chances, claiming that more than two million people who did not vote in 2024 were party supporters.

He said the NPP was actively reaching out to these voters and assuring them that the problems they experienced in the past would not be repeated.

He further described the Greater Accra Region as a crucial battleground for the NPP to secure a decisive victory in the next general elections.

Mr Abor further expressed confidence that he could lead the party to victory in the region, paving the way for a national win.
