Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has been given a free pass in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary elections in the North Tongu constituency.
Mr Ablakwa was the only one who had registered his intent to contest at the end of the deadline by the NDC on February 24.
The excited North Tongu legislator shared the news on his Facebook page on Sunday, February 26.
He believes running unopposed gives him another opportunity to continue to do more for his constituents.
“We are running unopposed in the North Tongu NDC Parliamentary Primaries. Another reason to serve my beloved constituents better, stronger, harder & more innovatively. As you very well know, I don’t and will never take your support for granted,” he said.
Meanwhile, the NDC has scheduled May 13 to hold its parliamentary primaries before the 2024 general elections.
It will also hold its presidential primaries on the same day.
The submission and filing of forms will take place from March 20 to March 22, 2023.
The vetting of the aspirants will be held from March 27 to March 29, 2023.
After the vetting, aspirants who have issues with the vetting process will have the opportunity to appeal from March 30 to April 6, 2023, before the main primaries on May 13.
