Suspended head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, Chauncey Billups, has been released from custody after getting arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Billups was arrested on Thursday, October 23 for his alleged role in illegal sports betting and gambling on NBA games dating back to March 2023.
The former NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons is among 30 individuals cited for allegedly participating in the aforementioned illegalities.
Since the briefing to the media by the FBI and subsequent arrest, Billups has been suspended by the NBA and former San Antonio Spurs center Tiago Splitter has been named as interim head coach of Portland.
Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier was also arrested while former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Damon Jones was also implicated in the investigations.

In his time at the Charlotte Hornets, Rozier reportedly feigned an injury during an NBA game and relayed the information to people close to him.

The Miami Heat lost its season opening game 125121 to the Orlando Magic without Rozier.
