NAIMOS raids ‘Yellow Face’ illegal mining site in Western Region

The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) executed a dawn raid aimed at removing illegal miners from the infamous ‘Yellow Face’ site in Wassa Abrehyia, Western Region.

The unexpected arrival of the task force compelled galamseyers to vacate the area to evade capture.

Throughout the operation, NAIMOS personnel dismantled makeshift structures and confiscated equipment utilized for unlawful mining operations.

Investigators also revealed a significant presence of drugs and explosives at the location.

NAIMOS has stated that it will persist with similar focused operations in the upcoming days and weeks to combat illegal mining and eradicate the presence of illicit substances in the affected regions.
