The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Asawase Constituency Faisal Dawudu has alleged that the behaviour of the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak is a threat to the constituency and the NDC party on the whole.

The constituency Chairman said  Muntaka failed to participate in a unity walk organized on Sunday, May 28, aimed to bring togetherness among the aspirants who contested for the Asawase Constituency seat in the recent primaries.

According to Dawudu, the incumbent MP is “anti-party, divisive, and ill-mannered.”

“It is very unfortunate that as a sitting MP and the parliamentary candidate elect for the constituency instead of him uniting the party, he is rather agitating against his opponent who lost the contest with him”.

“I invited him and instead of him responding in a unifying manner, he rather went on the radio inciting people not to come for this unity walk by saying that there is nothing like unity in Asawase. I will advise him to think as a leader and a unifier and he should be cautious of his utterances. A leader like him shouldn’t be saying this kind of unmannered words,” he noted.

Speaking on how Hon. Muntaka is becoming a threat to the NDC in the constituency, the Chairman said Muntaka has been urging his constituency members to vote skirt and blouse in the 2024 election.

In pledging his support for Muntaka in the 2024 election he said, “I will campaign for him whether he likes it or not because he is going to contest in 2024 under the umbrella party and we will make sure him and John Mahama win the elections.”

Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, a former Minority Chief Whip in Parliament previously made a series of allegations against the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming they conspired to remove him from the Asawase constituency during the party’s recent primaries and the same people called for his removal as the Chief Whip.

I wonder what the party’s leadership is doing so far. Can they expel him and select a another candidate to represent them? For me it is better NDC loses that seat than to win it with full of problems.
